Thursday April 7 was an exciting night for the Port Moody Soccer Club annual awards at the Inlet Theater in Port Moody. Donations for the PMSC Girls and Boys players of the year, and also for the 2016 Raffle Draw, were sponsored by Port Moody Realtors, John Grasty and Jessica Chen Sargent.
John and Jessica were thrilled to be presenting the award for Girls Player of the Year to Savannah Shirley of PMO 98 Selects, and Boys Player of the Year to Brad Gregory of PMO Redcaps. These outstanding athletes were each presented with an official Canadian soccer jersey and a World Cup banner, all signed by Canada Women’s Soccer team captain Christine Sinclair, and tickets to a Vancouver Whitecaps game!
“It was truly an inspiring night to see so many young people in the Port Moody community proudly being honoured for their hard work and dedication and we were delighted to be a part of it,” said Jessica.

Aside from sponsoring PMSC, John has also been a major supporter of the Port Moody Festival of the Arts Gala, the Sunday Summer Concert series at Rocky Point Park, and a feature sponsor of the Port Moody-based book, “Tracks in Time.” He is a supporter and lifetime member of the Port Moody Arts Centre Society, the Port Moody Heritage Society, and the Port Moody Ecological Society.
Recently, John has been supporting Port Moody Secondary School seniors with their after grad program, and said, “Regardless of how many area events or organizations we get involved with, it is always heart-warming to support young people in our community.”
